SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Allegiant Air said a flight from Arizona landed safely at Sioux Falls Regional Airport after the pilot reset the landing gear when a cockpit light indicated it wasn't fully extended.

Allegiant spokeswoman Jessica Wheeler said the pilot retracted and re-extended the MD-80's landing gear Thursday after the indicator light said it was not fully down. The light then indicated that the gear was properly extended.

Wheeler said the pilots did a quick circle around the airport tower for visual confirmation before landing the plane without incident just after 1 p.m. Thursday.

The flight was arriving from Mesa, Ariz. Allegiant is based in Las Vegas.
