PHOENIX -- A man wanted in a domestic violence case was fatally shot by Phoenix police after he allegedly drove his vehicle at an officer and rammed a police vehicle.
Police in several vehicles had pulled up around a rental truck driven by the man Wednesday night after receiving a tip about the location of a suspect sought in an aggravated assault.
Two detectives shot the man after he got into the truck and tried to run over the other officer and rammed the police vehicle.
Police say the man has been identified as 37-year-old Raymond P. Majors, who had a criminal record that included prior felony convictions and serving time in the state prison system.
They say Majors was wanted for allegedly beating a girlfriend with a wrench.
