PHOENIX -- Police in Gilbert and Tempe are investigating separate carjacking cases.

Gilbert police are looking for a carjacker who briefly dragged a man who tried to stop him Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, a woman is recovering after being shot in the stomach during an attempted carjacking in the parking lot of a Tempe apartment.

Gilbert police say the unidentified car owner was in his vehicle when a man approached him and demanding it.

As the carjacker began to drive away, the owner reached inside the open window to try and stop him and was dragged for a few feet.

The car owner suffered minor injuries and the vehicle was recovered minutes later.

In the Tempe shooting, police say they're looking for two men who ran away without taking the unidentified woman's car.
