PHOENIX -- The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality is issuing an ozone high pollution advisory for just the third time this year.

The advisory warning of ozone levels possibly exceeding the health standard is issued for Wednesday.

The department said a predicted shift in the winds from the east and northeast may trap ozone in high concentrations in the central and western part of the Phoenix metro area.

The agency is urging children and adults with respiratory ailments to avoid outdoor activities. The general public also should limit activities outdoors throughout the day.

The Maricopa County Air Quality Department also will enforce its mandatory "no burn" restrictions throughout Wednesday.
