PHOENIX — The American Red Cross has released an app for mobile phones that will help people handle an emergency situation, the agency said.
The app is designed to help in may situations, from simple cuts to heat stroke.
“What to watch for that might signal an allergic reaction or complication and then how to prevent such accidents in the future,” said Trudy Thompson with the Red Cross of another one of the app’s functions.
Thompson said the app will also let people know if the scenario is more than the average person can handle.
“Find out what to do, when to seek medical attention, when to go to the [emergency room], when to treat it yourself.”
The app is free for both Android and Apple phones.
