PHOENIX — With just two days to go before Arizona State University starts its school year, two dozen students were still waiting for their permanent housing on the Phoenix campus.
Two weeks ago, the university put up 120 students at the Westin Hotel downtown, because their nearby dorm, Taylor Place, was overbooked. Now, the list is down to 26.
“ASU has a policy that they guarantee housing for all freshmen that apply, so it’s not as if we can turn people away,” said Marshall Terrill, spokesman for the Phoenix campus.
ASU expects the remaining students to be moved into Taylor Place within two weeks.
