PHOENIX -- An excessive heat warning for the Phoenix area and nearby desert communities runs from late Friday morning to early Sunday morning.
The warning issued by the National Weather Service covers cities such as Casa Grande, Gila Bend and Wickenburg in addition to Phoenix and its suburbs.
The weather service said temperatures will reach as high as 110-115 while overnight lows dipping to 86 to 91 degrees won't provide much relief.
Precautions to take include rescheduling and limiting strenuous outdoor activities. Also, drink plenty of water, wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing and a wide-brimming hat.
People working outside should take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned places.
