PHOENIX -- Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found along a curb in a south Phoenix residential area.

Police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson says officers received a call about a body in the road near 16th Street and Roeser Rd. just after midnight Wednesday.

Authorities say the unidentified man appeared to have a head injury.

Police are treating the situation as suspicious, but they won't know whether foul play was a factor until the medical examiner completes an evaluation.
