PHOENIX -- Authorities say two children who ran away from their Maricopa County homes have been found.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says authorities in Glendale received a call Monday afternoon about two children who matched the description of 14-year-old Serenity Escobedo and her friend, 11-year-old Christian Brown.

The two were reported as runaways on Thursday. They were believed to have been in the Surprise area.

The sheriff's office, Surprise Police and the family had distributed fliers with information about the children. That's what prompted the call to Glendale police.

The sheriff's office says Escobedo and Brown are now home with their parents.
