PHOENIX -- Five people are recovering after being injured when a boat exploded at Saguaro Lake in the Tonto National Forest.

Maricopa County Sheriff's spokesman Joaquin Enriquez says all five passengers were injured when the explosion happened Sunday afternoon. The injuries included minor burns and a possible broken ankle.

Enriquez says the explosion happened just as the boat's owner turned the ignition.

KTVK reports the 21-foot Donzi Regatta was being launched at the lake's boat ramp No. 1. Park of the ramp and dock were burned along with the boat.

Authorities are still trying to determine what caused the explosion.
