PHOENIX -- A 3-year-old has died after being ejected from a minivan in a wreck in south Phoenix.

Phoenix police said the van that was involved in the wreck on Saturday afternoon was driven by the child's mother.

The 3-year-old and others inside the van weren't wearing seat belts.

Three other children who were in the van and range in age from 5 to 12 were taken to hospitals for medical care.

Their injuries were unknown.

Police said a pickup truck struck the van after the van's driver ran a red light.

The van rolled on its roof after the truck hit it.

No one in the truck was injured.

Police said there were no signs of impairment by the drivers involved in the wreck.
