Surprise Police citizen patrol signing up volunteers

PHOENIX — The Surprise Police Department’s Citizen Patrol is seeking a few good men and women who are willing to become an important asset for the city.
“They are eyes and ears and play a vital role in help the community, the department and the citizens,” said Surprise Police Sgt. Mike Donovan.
The volunteers’ duties include patrolling the streets, helping with traffic situations, assisting with crime scenes and conducting welfare checks.
There is a recruitment meeting being held Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Public Safety Auditorium located at 14250 W. Statler Plaza.
