Grand Canyon University chooses Mesa for new campus

PHOENIX — Grand Canyon University on Tuesday announced the site for
its planned new facility in Mesa.
The Christian private university located in west Phoenix,will open a staellite campus at Ray and Ellsworth roads, near Gateway Airport. The school had also asked
Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Queen Creek and Tempe to submit proposals for a 75- to 100-acre site.
Grand Canyon said construction of the facility is slated for 2014 with
plans to open in the fall of 2015.
At least one site in Tucson had been considered for a satellite campus,
but Grand Canyon put consideration of a Tucson campus on hold.
