GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Goodyear police said four people are in custody after a shooting that involved a car crash and gunshot victim being critically wounded.

Police said the wounded man was driving the car that crashed early Friday morning and is in critical condition. A second person in the car was taken to a hospital for evaluation as a precaution.

According to police, an officer in the area of the crash near McDowell and Dysart roads heard shots fired around 2 a.m. and saw another car driving away from the scene.

The officer then stopped the departing car. The occupants were taken into custody and a gun was found in the car.

Police said the shooting and crash may be related to an earlier fight at a bar.
