Man shot by Tempe police in a drug investigation has died

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Tempe Police Sgt. Mike Pooley confirmed in a statement Wednesday evening that a man who was shot by Tempe police officers has died from his injuries.

Police reportedly were trying to serve a search warrant at a Tempe home Wednesday afternoon as part of a drug investigation.

Authorities say an armed man came out of the home and approached officers and was shot.

The man's name hasn't been released yet.

Police say no officers were injured.
