N. Arizona man accused of trying to run over women

PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- A 41-year-old Prescott man is accused of trying to run over several women.

Police said officers arrested John M. Carlson after four women participating in a photo shoot and another witness reported that Carlson tried several times to run over the women Sunday.

According to police, the women said Carlson drove up an embankment toward one woman trying to get away and backed up at high speed toward two others.

The car belonging to Carlson's father eventually got stuck on a utility pole's guide wire.

The women told police they didn't know Carlson.

Police said Carlson was uncooperative and wouldn't talk about the incident. He faces charges of driving under the influence, endangerment, criminal damage and interfering with judicial proceedings.
