TUCSON, Ariz. -- Authorities in Tucson say two adult-care home employees are accused of physically abusing a 93-year-old woman.

Pima County Sheriff's deputies were called by the staff at Asterion Acres.

Staff members say 29-year-old Annuhar Jesus Ruiz and 67-year-old Elisa Moreno were believed to have been involved with physically abusing a woman at the facility.

Deputies saw injuries on the victim and arranged for her to be taken to a hospital.

Staff members say the two caregivers allegedly struck the woman with open hands and fists on separate and numerous occasions.

They also reported the two hitting her with a remote control and other objects.

The suspects no longer work at the facility.

Authorities say Ruiz and Moreno are facing multiple counts of vulnerable adult abuse. It's unclear if they have lawyers.
