PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- Northern Arizona authorities have arrested an armed man who allegedly was squatting at a house previously owned by his parents.
Prescott police say 67-year-old Richard E. Gray had to be taken by force Tuesday after greeting officers with a holstered handgun at the bank-owned home.
A real estate agent representing the bank found the home broken into and called police when Gray refused to leave.
Police say no payments had been made on the home since the last of Gray's parents died in 2010 and the locks had been changed.
They say Gray is being held at the Yavapai County Jail in Camp Verde on a local warrant as well as charges related to the squatting including trespassing.
Authorities didn't immediately know Wednesday if Gray had a lawyer yet.
