Benefit concert for Arizona firefighters sells out in day
PHOENIX -- A concert to benefit the families of 19 firefighters who died battling an Arizona wildfire is sold out.
More than 6,000 tickets for the "Country Cares Concert" event July 22 in Prescott Valley sold in a single day.
Dierks Bentley is hosting the event. Others scheduled to perform include the Band Perry, Randy Houser and David Nail.
Bentley grew up in Phoenix and said he has fond memories of camping and fishing in the Prescott area before moving to Tennessee to attend college.
All proceeds from the concert will go to the United Phoenix Firefighters Charities, which will distribute directly to the families of the fallen firefighters.
The Granite Mountain Hotshots from the Prescott Fire Department were killed June 30 in Yarnell when winds shifted, cutting off their escape route.
