KINGMAN, Ariz. --- Authorities in northwestern Arizona are investigating the discovery of a dead body after a fire at a Kingman home.

Mohave County Sheriff's detectives responded to a fire about 3:30 a.m. Friday and say the blaze started within the home's swamp cooler.

After the flames were extinguished, authorities say the body of a woman was found inside the home.

She's been identified as 57-year-old Kimberly Ann Sherwood.

Sheriff's officials say Sherwood lived at the home along with her boyfriend and her two young grandchildren.

Authorities say Sherwood and her boyfriend were able to get the two children safely out of the home.

They say the boyfriend was attempting to save Sherwood just before the home became engulfed in flames.

Sheriff's officials say they're still investigating and Sherwood's autopsy results are pending.
