PHOENIX -- A convicted child sex offender who twice fled to Mexico after violating his probation has been arrested and extradited to Arizona.
U.S. Marshals Service officials said 42-year-old Samuel Alexander Wroolie was returned to Phoenix on Wednesday after being apprehended in Mazatlan, Sinaloa.
Authorities said Wroolie was found guilty of attempted molestation of a child and sentenced to lifetime probation.
He was required to register as a sex offender, but authorities say Wroolie first fled to Mazatlan in 2002.
U.S. Marshals returned Wroolie to Phoenix in 2010, where he answered to his probation violations and had new charges added for not updating his sex offender registration.
Authorities said he again left the country last month and was found living in Mexico.
