PHOENIX -- An Arizona man is facing charges after police say he stabbed his mother at a Phoenix sushi and steak restaurant, and then sought to behead her.

Authorities said 35-year-old Michael Lee Hansen was arrested this week following the bizarre attack at the Sakura Sushi and Steakhouse.

According to investigators, Hansen punched his mother, knocked her unconscious and stabbed her around her hands and neck.

When detectives arrived, police said Hansen admitted to hitting his mother and attempting to cut her head off.

He also told detectives the attacked stemmed from "pornographic pictures of him." Police said Hansen later attacked another inmate in jail.

Hansen was charged with attempted murder and is being held on $250,000 bond.

It was unclear if he had an attorney.

The mother, whose name was not released, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
