Police: Man killed after Phoenix road rage clash; gun involved
PHOENIX -- Authorities said a 23-year-old man has died from gunshot wounds following a road rage clash on a Phoenix road.
Phoenix Police Department Sgt. Tommy Thompson said Saturday that Ramiro Valerio died after someone in a green Volkswagen Jetta or Audi opened fire on a Chevrolet Tahoe. Thompson said Valerio was a passenger in the Tahoe.
According to investigators, the Tahoe nearly collided with the green car during a lane merger shortly before midnight Friday. Officials said occupants in both cars exchanged words.
Police said gunshots were heard shortly after the exchange and Valerio was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
No arrests have been made.
