SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah Gov. Gary Herbert has ordered flags be flown at half-staff in memory of the 19 firefighters who were overrun by an Arizona wildfire.

The order takes effect Friday at state-owned facilities.

Herbert issued a statement noting Utah lost one of its own -- Joe Thurston of Cedar City -- outside the Arizona town of Yarnell.

Thurston was a member of the Granite Mountain Hotshots of Prescott.

Initial autopsy results show the firefighters died Sunday from burns, carbon monoxide poisoning or oxygen deprivation, or a combination of the factors.
