PHOENIX -- The July 18 trial date for Jodi Arias has been vacated, an analyst said Tuesday.

According to KTAR's legal analyst Monica Lindstrom, a status conference has been set for July 16 in its stead. The conference will decide if the trial will be postponed or continue.

Arias was found guilty of first-degree murder of her former boyfriend, Travis Alexander, on May 8 after months of explicit testimonies that captured the attention of the nation.

However, during the penalty phase of the trial, Judge Sherry Stephens ruled a mistrial after the jury could not decide if Arias should be sentenced to life in prison or death.

Arias originally told reporters she wanted to be sentenced to death, but then begged jurors for her life a few days after.
