Dozens spend night at Red Cross shelters

PRESCOTT -- The American Red Cross says several dozen people evacuated from their homes because of the Yarnell Hill Fire have spent the night at Red Cross shelters in Wickenburg and Prescott.

The Red Cross' Grand Canyon Chapter says 41 people spent Monday night at its shelter at Yavapai College in Prescott while five people spent the night at the Red Cross shelter at Wickenburg High School.

The Red Cross also has established a shelter at Kingman High School because of the Dean Peak Fire but no people have yet spent the night there.
