KINGMAN, Ariz. -- A wildfire burning in northwestern Arizona in the Hualapai Mountains has burned about 2,350 acres as it shrouds some Mohave County communities with smoke.
Firefighters are focusing on protecting structures from the fire located about 10 miles southeast of Kingman, while air tankers are dropping retardant to slow the fire's growth.
Mohave County authorities on Monday advised residents of Pine Lake to evacuate. A reception center is located at the Kingman High School.
Fire managers reported that 175 firefighters and support personnel are assigned to the fire.
The lightning-caused fire started Saturday, and fire managers project containment by July 12.
