PHOENIX -- Environmental regulators recommend that people living in metro Phoenix who are unusually sensitive to air quality should limit their time outdoors on Friday.
The regulators issued an ozone high pollution advisory for metro Phoenix on Friday because pollution levels may exceed federal air-quality standards.
Ozone can irritate the lungs and aggravate existing health conditions such as asthma.
Authorities recommended people avoid waiting in their cars at drive-thru restaurants, unplug electronic devices that aren't being used and fuel their cars after dark or during cooler evening hours.
