PHOENIX -- Charges have been refiled against a Phoenix man in a fatal hit-and-run accident three months ago.

Maricopa County prosecutors said 45-year-old Christopher Wakefield Chevalier is being held on suspicion of manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.

His next scheduled court date is July 1.

Authorities said Chevalier is accused in the hit-and-run death of 41-year-old Ana Blaze.

Phoenix police said a red Alfa Romeo sports car jumped a curb at 11th Street and Northern Avenue on March 3, and struck Blaze as she was walking with a friend. The driver left the scene. The mother of two died the next morning.

After an investigation, police arrested Chevalier but charges against him were dismissed on April 2.

KTVK-TV reported prosecutors asked police to further investigate the case and that eventually led to the charges being refiled.
