PHOENIX -- One of two men accused in a string of forced-entry home burglaries in Goodyear since January has pleaded not guilty.
Maricopa County prosecutors say 24-year-old Augustine Bobby Ortega entered his plea Monday. His next scheduled court date is Aug. 6.
Ortega and another suspect were arrested earlier this month at a Phoenix home by Goodyear police and U.S. Marshals.
Authorities say Ortega and 36-year-old Jimmy D. Guzman allegedly were linked to about a dozen ``door-kick'' burglaries in Goodyear.
They say suspected stolen items from Goodyear and other cities were recovered from the home, including electronics, guns and victims' identifications.
Ortega was arrested on suspicion of burglary, aggravated assault, theft, probation violation, credit card theft and unlawful flight from law enforcement.
Guzman was arrested on suspicion of burglary and parole violations.
