Suspicious item forces evacuation of Sky Harbor Terminal 4

PHOENIX — Police cleared Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport Terminal 4 Monday afternoon because of a suspicious item left near in the area of the ticket counters.

An airport spokeswoman said road restrictions were in place on the second level of the terminal and recommended anyone picking up passengers or flying out to check flight status before venturing to the airport.

The suspicious item being investigating was a cooler, Phoenix police said.

According to the airport’s Facebook page, the situation was cleared about 1 p.m.
