PHOENIX -- A Peoria man accused in a fatal stabbing at a Glendale park earlier this month has pleaded not guilty in the case.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 23-year-old Andrew Patrick Aschenbrenner entered his plea Thursday. His next scheduled court date is Aug. 7.

Glendale police believe Aschenbrenner stabbed 23-year-old Darrick Michael Hendrix Jr. during a fight June 5 at Sahuaro Ranch Park.

Hendrix was from Glendale.

Police say Aschenbrenner was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder.

They say another 23-year-old man was stabbed in the incident, but he was treated at a hospital and released.
