PHOENIX -- Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer declared a state of emergency in Yavapai County on Thursday because of the Doce Fire.

The declaration immediately frees $100,000 to support response to the fire. It also permits the use of the Arizona National Guard to aid in firefighting or recovery efforts.

Homeowners are not eligible to receive the funds.

In addition, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved Arizona's request for a fire assistance grant, meaning the state will be reimbursed 75 percent of what it spends fighting the fire.

The Doce Fire is currently ten percent contained and has burned between 6,400 and 7,500 acres.
