TEMPE, Ariz. — Authorities say police are treating the death of a woman as a homicide after her lifeless, naked body was found in a Tempe street.

Tempe Police Sgt. Mike Pooley said the body was found early Saturday morning. He says the victim appears to be in her early 20s and of either Hispanic or Native American descent.

Police say the victim's identity is still not known.

In an email, Pooley said Tempe Police were initially called around 4:30 AM on Saturday in reference to the subject, who was found laying in the roadway of the 1900 block of East Minton Drive.

Pooley says police are asking for assistance from the public as they attempt to identify the victim and gather information surrounding her slaying.

At this time our detectives are still looking for any assistance from the public. Anybody with information is asked to contact the Tempe Police Department. At this time the victim has not been identified. No further information at this time.
