PHOENIX -- An Arizona State University football player was arrested Sunday on charges of sexual assault and domestic violence.
According to Tempe police, 22-year-old Andres Rafael Garcia was in an argument with a 21-year-old acquaintance on Friday when he allegedly shoved her into a wall, causing her to briefly lose consciousness.
After the victim came to, Garcia and several friends took the victim to her home. Garcia then asked to speak privately with the victim, then allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Garcia was booked on two counts of sexual assault and one count of domestic violence.
Garcia, a walk-on defensive back who was with the team for just one season, was dismissed from the team following his arrest.
