FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Authorities say two young girls have been slightly injured after dogs attacked them at a Little League baseball field in Flagstaff.

According to a police report, a coach promised his team a home run derby but was thwarted Thursday afternoon by a woman playing with two large dogs on a field.

The Arizona Daily Sun says a 12-year-old girl and 13-year-old girl volunteered to collect some left-behind equipment from the field.

But police say two dogs circled the girls and then jumped on them. Both girls suffered scratches on their legs and one girl was bit on the ankle.

Police say the dogs' owner put them in an SUV and drove from the scene. Authorities were still looking for the woman Friday.
