PHOENIX -- Arizona has issued an ozone pollution advisory as temperatures are expected to surpass 110 degrees and create high-pollution conditions.
The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality issued the warning for Friday and urged commuters to carpool to help reduce emissions.
Health officials said children and adults with respiratory problems should avoid outdoor activities.
They added Arizonans should drive as little as possible, delay painting projects and make sure containers of household cleaners and other solvents are properly sealed to prevent vapors from entering the air.
