GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A suspect is in custody in connection with a fatal stabbing at a Glendale park.

Glendale police said 23-year-old Andrew Patrick Aschenbrenner, of Peoria, is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Authorities believe Aschenbrenner stabbed 23-year-old Darrick Michael Hendrix Jr. during a fight just before midnight Wednesday at Sahuaro Ranch Park.

Hendrix is from Glendale.

Police said another 23-year-old man was stabbed in the incident, but he was treated and released at a hospital and then interviewed by detectives.

They said one adult and two juveniles were brought in for questioning for their alleged involvement in the physical altercation.

All three were later released, but police said possible aggravated assault charges will be submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office for review in the case.
