Wreck slows I-10 east lanes west of Phoenix

TONOPAH, Ariz. -- Interstate 10's eastbound lanes are down to one lane at Tonopah about 50 miles west of Phoenix because of an accident involving a tractor-trailer rig.

The Arizona Department of Transportation reported the freeway may be closed for an extended period to clean up the wreckage.

ADOT said a recommended detour takes traffic off eastbound I-10 at Exit 81 and then south on Salome Road, east on Courthouse Road and north on Wintersburg Road back to I-10.
