Aerial patrol checks hope to get jump on Arizona wildfires
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Law enforcement in Flagstaff is taking to the skies to try to prevent wildfires.
A plane flown by a Coconino County sheriff's deputy accompanied by a Flagstaff police officer is flying around the area to try to spot transient camps and illegal campfires in the city and in nearby forested areas.
The Arizona Daily Sun reported that law enforcement personnel on the ground are notified so they can go to the site and see if there is any violation requiring action.
