TUCSON, Ariz. -- A man accused in a fatal shooting at a Tucson party has been sentenced to six years in prison.
Pima County prosecutors say 25-year-old Zane G. Williams pleaded guilty in March to negligent homicide for the fatal shooting of Javier Johansen.
Authorities say Williams and the 23-year-old Johansen were drinking and doing drugs on March 23, 2012, at an apartment party when Williams took out a gun that accidentally went off.
The Arizona Daily Star reports that Johansen's body was found in the apartment four days later after Williams' brother called to report the shooting.
Williams fled to San Diego, where he was arrested several days after Johansen's body was discovered.
