PHOENIX — Officials say two people have been rescued from Piestewa Peak.

The Phoenix Fire Department said crews rescued a 66 year-old man Saturday morning who had a preexisting medical condition and became fatigued on the trail. Firefighters were able to bring the man down and transport him to a nearby hospital.

Crew also rescued a woman with a fractured ankle in a steep terrain. The 45 year-old female was brought to safety with air support.

No other injuries were reported.
