Tucson council approves new gun ordinances
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Tucson has two new local gun laws that supporters said will help police investigate gun-related crimes.
One of the two ordinances approved by the City Council Wednesday night requires gun owners to notify police about lost or stolen guns within 48 hours.
The second ordinance allows police to conduct a blood or breath test for alcohol consumption by a person who negligently discharges a gun and appears intoxicated.
The Arizona Daily Star reported that state law already prohibits the negligent firing of guns.
