PHOENIX -- A woman accused of running a red light and causing a fatal crash at a Phoenix bus stop earlier this month has pleaded not guilty.

Maricopa County prosecutors said 22-year-old Elsa Olivares entered her plea Wednesday. Her next scheduled court date is July 15.

Phoenix police said Olivares and her passenger ran off after the May 13 accident at Indian School Road and 27th Avenue but she later turned herself in to police.

Police said Olivares admitted to being under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the crash.

She was booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, endangerment and leaving the scene of a fatal collision.

Police said a 50-year-old man, Harry Cleveland, was killed in the accident and another person was injured.
