SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Authorities in Scottsdale said an elderly woman lived with her dead husband for about a month.

Scottsdale police say no charges are going to be filed after a psychological evaluation showed the woman suffers from some mental issues.

Police said there's no criminal intent as the woman said she didn't know what else to do.

The man, in his 70s, underwent surgery at the beginning of this year and was staying at a medical facility to recover before moving in with his wife in early April.

Phoenix TV station KPHO said a concerned family member called police after not hearing from the couple for some time.

Officers found the deceased man at the couple's home last Friday.

It's unclear when the man died.

Police haven't released the couple's names.
