ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The Census Bureau reports that northwestern New Mexico's Farmington area along with two areas of western Arizona lead the nation in having the largest proportions of mobile homes in their housing inventories.

The report said the Farmington area leads the nation with mobile homes accounting for 32 percent of its housing inventory, followed by Yuma with 29 percent and the Kingman and Lake Havasu City area at nearly 27 percent.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, the Farmington area includes all of San Juan County and part of the largely rural Navajo Nation, while more than two-thirds of the area's residents live outside Farmington.
