PHOENIX -- A Goodyear girl told police Tuesday that she lied about nearly being abducted.

The girl originally told police that a man, who she described, in a white van tried to grab her arm on Friday as she was walking to school.

As a result, Westar Elementary, near South Estrella Parkway and West Westar Drive, was placed on lockdown for a few hours.

The case has been turned over to a county juvenile attorney.
