Pedestrians in Chandler will soon have a new way to cross the Loop 101.
According to the East Valley Tribune, the new pedestrian bridge will be north of Chandler Boulevard and south of Ray Road.
The bridge is scheduled for completion this fall. It will be 1,145 feet long and 10 feet wide.
The Arizona Department of Transportation will be responsible for the construction of the $3.6 million bridge and maintenance will be the City of Chandler’s responsibility.
No closures are expected in the early phases of construction, but full freeway closures will be necessary as the bridge nears completion.
