PEORIA, Ariz. -- The father of a 3-year-old boy found wandering around a Peoria mobile home park faces charges of endangerment and neglect.

Peoria police spokeswoman Amanda Jacinto says residents had reported seeing the boy walking on the hot pavement Friday without any shoes.

She says the boy's father called to report his son missing about six hours he was found. Jacinto said Monday that the boy remains in custody of Child Protective Services.

Detectives have recommended the charges against the father.
