FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Authorities in Flagstaff are looking for four teenagers they believe started a string of small fires Friday.

Two of the fires are within city limits, and the other is on U.S. Forest Service land. They range in size from a quarter-acre to 1.5 acres.

Police Sgt. James Jackson said witnesses reported seeing three females and a male all wearing black shirts and jeans around the origin of the fires. They are described as being between 15 and 17 years old. Jackson said one of the girls was wearing a black and gray baseball hat.

The fires had been burning on the south side of town near Northern Arizona University and near some homes.

Jackson said police know the identity of the teens and believe they were traveling on foot.
